I don’t think it would happen though, I think Chelsea will hang onto him. But there’s very few signings like that available, it’s only every few years that these type of players become available.”
Neville placed Palmer in the same bracket as Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, and Roy Keane — transformative, near-guaranteed signings.

Palmer finished 2025-26 with 10 Premier League goals and 1 assist in 26 appearances — a solid return despite a difficult first half of the season hampered by injury and inconsistent form. The previous season he was Chelsea’s top scorer with 15 Premier League goals and 18 across all competitions.
