Claude Le Roy, a prominent figure in African football, is poised to return to the coaching staff of an African national team after a five-year hiatus. The 78-year-old French tactician will soon take charge of the Congo Red Devils.

Le Roy is expected to finalize his contract in the near future, with plans to lead the Republic of Congo national team in the qualifiers for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. He will be joined by Senegalese Omar Daf as his assistant coach.

This appointment marks Claude Le Roy’s ninth stint as coach of an African national team. His previous coaching roles include managing Cameroon, Senegal, Ghana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Republic of the Congo, and Togo.
