Benfica Lisbon has appointed Marco Silva as their new head coach following the departure of José Mourinho. The club made the announcement today via its official website and social media platform X.
Silva, 48, will lead the team under a contract lasting two seasons, with an option to extend for an additional year. Previously, he managed Fulham since 2021, where he oversaw a total of 229 matches, achieving 104 wins, 42 draws, and 83 losses.
During his last season with Fulham, the team finished 11th in the Premier League and did not secure qualification for European competitions, a situation that ultimately contributed to Silva’s exit from the club.
