Barcelona is reportedly unable to retain Ter Stegen even as a backup due to his high salary. As a result, the club is hoping for a mutual termination of his contract. Ter Stegen has been with Barcelona since 2014, when he joined from Borussia Mönchengladbach for 12 million euros.
