The Cameroonian Football Federation is reportedly seeking to appoint a new manager for the national team, the Indomitable Lions. Under the leadership of Samuel Eto’o, the governing body is exploring a reshuffle in the coaching staff, considering a move away from David Pagou, who has held the position since the last Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Local media reports indicate that Hervé Renard, the 57-year-old French tactician, is the federation’s primary target. Officials have already initiated contact with Renard in hopes of persuading him to take the helm of the Indomitable Lions ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, set to begin next September.
Renard brings a wealth of experience in African football to the table, having previously managed teams such as Zambia, Ivory Coast, Angola, and Morocco. His notable accomplishments include winning the Africa Cup of Nations with both Zambia in 2012 and Ivory Coast in 2015.
