After a triumphant opening match against Ecuador, the Ivory Coast is now setting its sights on a critical encounter with Germany in Group E of the ongoing World Cup, hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Elephants will face Germany on June 20, following their victory over Ecuador on June 15. Buoyed by this initial success, the Ivorian squad is brimming with confidence as they approach their upcoming challenge.
In a recent press conference, Ivorian manager Emerse Fae expressed both his determination and that of his team. He emphasized that Ivory Coast does not plan to merely participate in the tournament but aims to secure advancement to the next round. Fae declared his intention to defeat Germany, highlighting the significance of the match for their campaign.
“We didn’t come here to visit the United States and go home. We beat France and we’ve made a good start to this tournament against Ecuador, a very tough side. The next match against Germany? It will be a difficult match. Germany have a wealth of experience. But we’ll go out to challenge them, win and secure our qualification,” Fae stated.
