River Plate have cancelled the loan deal for Kendry Paez, with the midfielder now set to return to Chelsea, according to Argentine journalist Hernan Castillo.
The 19-year-old has made 14 appearances in 2026 during his spell in Argentina, scoring once and registering one assist.
Paez joined Chelsea from Independiente del Valle in July 2025, after a deal was agreed two years earlier, with the transfer completed once he turned 18.
He initially spent a season on loan at Strasbourg before being sent to River Plate for the current campaign as part of his development pathway.
