Tunisia national team have appointed Herve Renard as the new head coach for the remainder of the World Cup following Sabri Lamouchi’s sacking, confirmed in a statement by the Tunisian Football Federation.
Lamouchi was given his marching orders following the 5-1 humiliation defeat against Sweden in the World Cup opener.
Renard’s stay could be extended beyond the World Cup, with the federation stating, “The agreement also stipulates that negotiations will be opened after the World Cup campaign to consider a long-term partnership based on specific sporting objectives.”
Tunisia will face Japan and the Netherlands in the remaining group games.
