Khanyisa Mayo is reportedly on the verge of leaving Kaizer Chiefs during the current transfer window. The player joined Amakhosi at the start of the season on loan from the Algerian club CR Belouzdad. The initial plan was for Mayo, a former striker for Cape Town City, to transition to a permanent role at the Chiefs.
However, Mayo’s performance this season has not met expectations. He has only managed to score two goals in 15 appearances for the team, a return that falls short for a player at a club of Chiefs’ stature.
The situation could be further complicated by the recent change in leadership at CR Belouzdad, as the new president Mohamed Arar will influence decisions regarding Mayo’s future. With Mayo expressing discontent in North Africa, a return to South Africa seems probable, although it may not necessarily lead him back to Kaizer Chiefs.
