Manuel Neuer has announced that the upcoming World Cup will mark the end of his illustrious international career. The 40-year-old goalkeeper for Bayern Munich and the German national team revealed his decision today.
Neuer stated that he will retire from international football after the current World Cup, indicating that fans should not expect to see him represent Germany at Euro 2028. He emphasized his desire to focus on the matches ahead without the weight of impending farewells:
“This will be my LAST tournament for the German national team. I don’t plan to take part in the European Championship in two years. I want to look forward to every match and not think about farewells or whether it’s my last game,” said Neuer.
