The Moroccan national team reached a significant achievement during their 2026 World Cup match against Scotland. According to statistics from Opta, Morocco successfully completed 601 accurate passes in the game, marking the highest number recorded by an African team in a World Cup match since 1966.

Morocco executed a total of 671 passes, boasting an impressive accuracy rate of 90%. Opta characterized their passing style as “Tiki-taka,” indicating a high level of ball control and precision.

This impressive ball control enabled Morocco to dominate the match, ultimately securing a 1-0 victory over Scotland. The result not only reflects the team’s performance in the tournament but also emphasizes their remarkable passing prowess.

Earlier in the tournament, Ismael Saibari made history by becoming only the second African player, after Mohamed Salah, to score in his first two World Cup matches.
