Declan Rice believes Arsenal has what it takes to win trophies after reaching the League Cup final.
The Gunners defeated Chelsea 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday, securing a 4-2 aggregate victory with a late goal from Kai Havertz.
Rice acknowledged Chelsea’s strong performance in the semi-final second leg and noted their improvements since their new coach took over.
“Credit to Chelsea,” the midfielder stated after the match. “Since their new manager arrived, they’ve improved a lot.
“They changed their formation tonight and created challenges for us. On another night, they could have scored, but our defence was solid.
“We have a team that really wants it. No matter which team challenges us, we’re ready. When facing a team like Chelsea, they test you both physically and mentally.
“You need resilience to stay strong and keep pushing.

Arsenal has not secured a major trophy since winning the FA Cup against Chelsea in 2020 during Mikel Arteta’s first season. However, Rice is confident this could be the year they change that.
“We deserve it,” he stated. “In the last few years, we’ve been at the top of the Premier League, competing closely but falling short.
“That’s why this season we have added motivation to push further in every competition. There’s still a long way to go, but reaching a cup final with this club is fantastic.”
