Arsenal Set To Offer Ethan Nwaneri Long-Term Contract, Secure Real Madrid Pursuit

Arsenal are close to finalising a new long-term contract deal for their wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri who has been in fine form at the Emirates Stadium. Nwaneri has developed into a key player for Mikel Arteta amid the absence of Gunners superstar Bukayo Saka who is still working his way back to fitness following a hamstring injury.

The 18-year-old wonderkid has answered the Spanish tactician’s challenge to fill the void on the right side of Arsenal’s attack with eight goals in all competitions. Such performances have established Nwaneri as one of Europe’s elite young prospects and sparked links with clubs across the continent interested in plucking him from the Premier League.

According to 90min, Real Madrid are said to be the leading suitors for the teenage winger. He would be a backup for Rodrygo on the right side of Los Blancos’ attack if he decides to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

In a bid to head off further speculation, Arsenal have expressed their desire to reward Nwaneri’s impressive displays with a huge new contract, according to a new report by The Mail . A five-year deal has been prepared for the Gunners academy graduate , who turned down a number of Europe’s elite clubs in 2023 and signed a new deal with Arsenal before being promoted to the senior team at the time.

Despite Nwaneri’s high price tag, his rapid development this season has surprised Arsenal’s coaching staff. He deserves credit for proving himself worthy of playing in the Premier League.

The north London club are working on a series of new contract extensions for Mikel Arteta’s key players ahead of the summer transfer window. Bukayo Saka is set to be offered a long-term deal, while talks are underway with centre-back duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes, whose deals expire in 2027.

Meanwhile, defensive midfielders Thomas Partey and Jorginho are expected to leave the club when their contracts expire this summer, with Brazilian clubs recently interested in their services.
