Austin FC’s midfielder Owen Wolff has undergone surgery for a sports hernia and is expected to recover fully by mid to late February, the club announced on Wednesday.

The surgery took place on Tuesday.

Wolff, 21, made his debut for Austin in 2021 as the team’s first homegrown player. He has played 120 matches in MLS, starting in 80 of them, scoring 10 goals and providing 13 assists.

In January, he extended his contract with Austin until June 2030.

Austin will kick off the MLS season at home on February 21 against Minnesota United.
