The South African Football Association (Safa) is actively working to resolve a visa issue affecting assistant coach Helman Mkhalale. The coach was notably absent when the Bafana Bafana team arrived in North America after their chartered flight.
Mkhalale was denied a visa by the US embassy, which prevented him from traveling with the rest of the squad. The reason for the visa refusal remains unclear, but Safa has committed to investigating the matter thoroughly.
The team faced delays before their departure, with reports indicating that nearly the entire squad lacked the necessary visas. However, thanks to government intervention, the team was able to leave a day late on Monday and arrived today, just in time for the global event.
