Young Senegalese player Bara Sapoko Ndiaye has shared that his initial days in Germany were marked by some nervousness, but he has since gained confidence.

After transferring to Bayern Munich this winter from the Gambino Stars Africa academy, Ndiaye made his Bundesliga debut on matchday 29 against St. Pauli. Since joining the team, he has benefitted from the support of coach Vincent Kompany, who motivates him to keep working hard. He has also integrated well into the dressing room, thanks to several French-speaking teammates. Ndiaye aspires to play at the highest level while proudly representing Senegal.

“The first time I was there, I was a bit nervous, but now things are getting better and better. Vincent Kompany told me to keep working hard. That’s what makes the difference. They’re very nice. Upamecano is like a brother to me. Lots of them speak French, so it’s not difficult for me to get on with them. I want to play football at the highest level, but also play for Senegal and help my team win.”
