Marcus Rashford’s potential permanent transfer to Barcelona is now in jeopardy as concerns rise within the club about his recent performance.
The Athletic reports that Barcelona’s management is reconsidering the activation of the buyout clause for the 28-year-old forward, who is currently on loan from Manchester United. The board is reportedly dissatisfied with Rashford’s contributions, particularly highlighted by his recent display in the Champions League against Atlético Madrid.
Management figures, including Hansi Flick and Joan Laporta, had initially anticipated a strong performance from Rashford, especially in the absence of the injured Raphinha. However, his lack of impact in high-pressure situations has led to significant doubts regarding his effectiveness against formidable opponents.
Since joining Barcelona on loan in July 2025, Rashford has participated in 43 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists. His current market value is estimated at €40 million by Transfermarkt.
