Catalan giants Barcelona are intensifying negotiations with Inter Milan for defender Alessandro Bastoni.
Details: According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barcelona aims to include young talent Héctor Fort in the deal to lower the asking price for the Italian center-back.
Currently, Inter values Bastoni at €60 million. Given Barcelona’s financial constraints, it’s challenging to pay that amount outright.
The club’s management believes that incorporating 19-year-old Fort—who has performed well this season—will significantly reduce the cash component of the transfer, making it easier to convince Inter to release one of their key players.
It’s important to note that Fort is currently on loan at Elche, where he has made twelve appearances this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
Reminder: It remains unclear whether Real Madrid will give Barcelona a guard of honour.
