Bayern Munich midfielder Leon Goretzka is set to leave the club as a free agent, with his contract expiring at the end of June. As of now, no agreement has been reached between the player and the Bavarian giants regarding an extension.
Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus has emerged as the leading contender to acquire the 30-year-old midfielder. The Turin club has already initiated contact with Goretzka’s representatives and is expected to make a formal offer soon.
In addition to Juventus, other Serie A clubs, including AC Milan and Napoli, have also expressed interest in Goretzka. However, Juventus is currently viewed as the frontrunner in the pursuit of his signature.
Since joining Bayern in 2018 from Schalke, Goretzka has become a pivotal figure in the squad, contributing to the team’s success and securing multiple titles, including seven Bundesliga championships.
