Benni McCarthy has expressed confidence in South Africa’s ability to perform well against Czechia and South Korea in their upcoming matches in Group A of the World Cup. The South African team, known as Bafana Bafana, is set to face Czechia tomorrow evening at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

This match marks a crucial opportunity for Bafana Bafana following their 2-0 defeat to host Mexico in the tournament’s opening match a week ago. McCarthy, the all-time leading scorer for South Africa with 29 goals and currently coaching the Kenyan national team, emphasized the team’s physical readiness for World Cup competition.

“Physically, we have presence. Every single defender in that team is a good unit. You need to match the physicality of European and South American teams,” McCarthy stated on SportyTV, via Pulse Sports Kenya. He specifically highlighted defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi, saying, “I think Mbokazi is probably the only defender that’s a decent size, but he’s got the heart of a lion.”
