The young Cameroonian footballers have made a remarkable recovery following their initial setback against Ivory Coast in the opening round of the group stage. Their performance in Morocco has showcased their resilience as they strive for success in the tournament.
After suffering a defeat in their first match, the Young Lions secured two consecutive wins, first against Uganda and then a narrow 1-0 victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday, 19 May. These results significantly boosted their standing in the group.
With this latest win, Cameroon finished in second place in Group B, trailing only Ivory Coast. This achievement has ensured their progression to the quarter-finals of the competition.
In addition to advancing in the tournament, Cameroon’s U17 team has also qualified for the U17 World Cup, mirroring the success of their Ivory Coast counterparts.
