Cameroon’s U20 women’s team was eliminated by Tanzania in the second leg of the final round of African qualifiers for the 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup. The Cameroonian side had initially established a favorable position to qualify, winning the first leg 3-1 against Tanzania.
However, the return leg, held on Sunday, May 10, resulted in a decisive 2-0 defeat for Cameroon. Tanzania’s Mary Aaron and Hasnath Ubamba each scored a goal, effectively sealing the victory for their team.
The U20 Lionesses’ inability to convert opportunities led to their elimination, causing their hopes of participating in the upcoming World Cup to fade away.
With this win, Tanzania has secured its spot at the 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
