The Cameroonian Football Referees’ Association is contesting the electoral process scheduled for 13 September 2025, presenting its case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). This action follows concerns regarding the legitimacy of the election results released by the Electoral Commission of the Cameroonian Football Federation.

The disputed statement by the Electoral Commission summarized the outcomes of elections for President and Vice-President positions within the boards of directors of the departmental football leagues and delegates to the Regional General Assemblies. The referees’ association views this document as a formal decision open to legal appeal.

In a recent notification, the CAS Arbitral Panel confirmed that the referees’ appeal is admissible. This decision is grounded in the assertion that domestic remedies have been exhausted per Article R47 of the Code and Article 73 of the FECAFOOT Statutes.

Domestic remedies have been exhausted in accordance with Article R47 of the Code and Article 73 of the FECAFOOT Statutes. Furthermore, the appellant has standing to challenge in court any decision taken by FECAFOOT. Consequently, the appeal is admissible. The grounds for the Arbitral Panel’s decisions regarding the CAS’s jurisdiction and the admissibility of the appeal will be set out in the final award.
