Núñez could soon be back in England.
Two Premier League clubs, Chelsea and Newcastle United, are reportedly competing to secure the services of Al Hilal’s forward, Darwin Núñez. According to TEAMtalk, the Uruguayan striker, who is 26 years old, is facing reduced playing time with Al Hilal following the arrival of Karim Benzema.
Núñez’s situation in the Saudi Pro League has sparked his desire for a return to Europe. He has indicated that he is open to playing for another English club, apart from Liverpool, where he previously played.
The forward made his move to Al Hilal last August from Liverpool for a fee of €53 million. Since joining the Saudi team, Núñez has played in 24 matches, scoring 9 goals and providing 5 assists. His market value is currently estimated to be €25 million, according to Transfermarkt.
