Chelsea are reportedly intensifying their efforts to sign Lautaro Martínez from Inter Milan.
The West London club aims to secure a top centre-forward this summer and has prioritized Martinez. Chelsea have been interested in the Argentine forward, who has scored 171 goals in 370 matches for Inter across all competitions.
He currently stands joint-third among the club’s all-time top scorers and is recognized as the highest-scoring foreign player in Inter’s history.
Chelsea is set to make an offer of around £86 million, which includes add-ons, to test Inter’s commitment this summer.
Martinez is under contract with Inter until 2029, but the club is considering a major sale this summer to support a rebuild led by Cristian Chivu. Nicolo Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, and Marcus Thuram are also rumored to be potential departures from the club.
As reported by Topskill Sports, Chelsea is eager to add proven talent to enhance their young squad, which is the youngest in the Premier League based on average age. The team has faced challenges in maintaining consistency, with a recent loss to Everton marking their fourth consecutive defeat across all competitions.
Chelsea is also willing to include Andrey Santos in their offer to help lower Inter’s asking price, as the Italian club has shown interest in the midfielder.
