A frightening incident unfolded at Stamford Bridge during the 35th round of the English Premier League match between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest. The match took a distressing turn when Chelsea’s 18-year-old winger, Jesse Derry, suffered a severe head injury as he challenged Nottingham defender Zak Abbott.

As the first half neared its conclusion, Chelsea was trailing 0-2 when Derry’s injury occurred. Referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty to Chelsea, but Derry was unable to continue and was subsequently stretchered off the pitch. Despite the opportunity, Chelsea failed to convert the penalty, with Cole Palmer missing against the Nottingham goalkeeper.

At halftime, the score remained 0-2 in favor of Nottingham Forest. Reports indicate Derry was conscious but required oxygen as medical staff attended to him following the head injury.
