Chelsea Football Club has opted to cease their efforts to sign Ibrahima Konaté from Liverpool, who is set to leave the club as a free agent this summer.
Details: According to TEAMtalk, internal discussions among Chelsea’s management about acquiring the 27-year-old French central defender concluded that an official offer would not be made. The executives deemed Konaté’s wage demands too high, conflicting with Chelsea’s current wage structure.
Despite Chelsea’s withdrawal, Konaté is garnering significant interest from several top European clubs. Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on securing the defender on a free transfer, setting the stage for a competitive chase this transfer window.
This past season, Konaté made 51 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 2 goals, and is currently valued at €50 million by Transfermarkt.
