Liam Rosenior’s dismissal from Chelsea after just 103 days has proven to be both a significant reputational setback and a costly decision for the London club. The manager had signed a long-term contract in January 2026 extending until 2032, making his early termination financially burdensome for Chelsea.
Details: Reports indicate that Chelsea will be required to pay Rosenior compensation in the vicinity of £24 million (approximately €28 million) due to the terms of his contract. This substantial payout adds to the financial strains the club has already been experiencing.
This latest payout will add to Chelsea’s already strained budget, which has faced significant challenges in recent years due to large severance payments to former managers like Graham Potter, Mauricio Pochettino, and Enzo Maresca.
Update: Chelsea is currently evaluating two candidates to succeed Rosenior.
