The city of Como will not experience the Champions League anthem this season. UEFA has ruled that Como’s stadium does not comply with the standards required for hosting Champions League fixtures.
In a formal announcement today, UEFA delivered its final assessment regarding Como’s home ground, following the club’s impressive qualification for the prestigious tournament this season.
The Giuseppe Sinigaglia stadium, which accommodates only 13,600 spectators, fails to meet the necessary infrastructure requirements for Champions League matches.
As a result, Como is expected to host their Champions League home games at Sassuolo’s stadium, which has a capacity exceeding 23,000 seats.
