Czechia’s head coach, Miroslav Koubek, has expressed anticipation for a different performance from South Africa’s national team, Bafana Bafana, in their upcoming match tonight. Koubek’s remarks come in the wake of South Africa’s recent 2-0 defeat to Mexico at Azteca Stadium, which he does not believe accurately represents the team’s abilities.
Koubek emphasized that South Africa, under coach Hugo Broos, typically adopts a neutral playing style. He noted that the players may have been assigned roles that deviate from their usual positions. “I think the players have received different roles compared to what they usually play; there is a bit of movement. So now I don’t expect the same effect,” Koubek stated during an interview with SABC Sport.
Both teams enter this match off the back of losses, with Czechia falling to South Korea in their opener. Tonight’s clash is crucial for both sides as they vie for their first points in the tournament.
The match is set to kick off at 6 PM South African time.
