Stoke City has announced the signing of Senegalese midfielder Djibril Soumare on a three-season contract. The deal comes as Soumare transitions from SC Braga in the Portuguese Primeira Liga to continue his career in the English Championship.

Soumare, 23, previously spent the 2025–2026 season on loan at Sheffield United, where he made a notable impact by featuring in 27 matches. His performances caught the attention of Stoke City, leading to this permanent move.

The new contract with Stoke City extends until 2029, providing Soumare an opportunity to showcase his skills in the English second tier. This marks a significant step in his football career as he seeks to establish himself further in the competitive landscape of the Championship.
