The Democratic Republic of Congo national team is preparing for a crucial World Cup group stage match against Uzbekistan without the presence of their most famous supporter, Michel Kuki Mboladinga, widely known as “Lumumba Vea.”
Reports from lequipe indicate that Mboladinga has been denied a visa, which will prevent him from attending the match scheduled to be held in Atlanta. Previously, he encountered similar visa issues but was able to attend the game against Colombia.
In light of this situation, diplomatic sources express optimism that Mboladinga’s circumstances might change should the team put forth a strong performance and progress in the tournament.
Mboladinga gained significant recognition during the Africa Cup of Nations, where he became an internet sensation for his distinctive method of supporting the team, characterized by standing almost motionless during matches as a tribute to the historical figures of the Congo.
