Siphamandla Ncanana cannot believe how Durban City has performed since moving up from the National First Division.

The Kwa-Zulu Natal club was promoted to the top division at the beginning of this season, and typically, such teams face challenges in the PSL.

However, that hasn’t been the case for the team coached by Pitso Dladla.

They have reached the quarterfinals of the Carling Knockout Cup, secured a spot in the top eight, and advanced to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.

This weekend, they will face Casric Stars at Chatsworth Stadium as they aim for their first Cup final in local football.

“It’s quite surprising for us, but we recognize it is our responsibility to be where we are, and only we can decide our future,” Ncanana said to reporters.

“Players shouldn’t feel too comfortable; we have to remember that anything can change quickly. Just because we are in fifth place doesn’t mean we are safe. There are still many games to play.

“We could find ourselves at the bottom because the gap isn’t wide. We need to stay out of our comfort zone and keep pushing.”

The match kicks off at 3 PM tomorrow.
