Following Scotland’s exit from the World Cup, head coach Steve Clarke has announced his resignation. The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has initiated a search for a new manager to take the reins of the national team.
This decision comes after the “Tartan Army” delivered a disappointing performance at the tournament. Despite securing a win against Haiti and showcasing some promising moments, Scotland failed to advance beyond the group stage.
The turning point in the tournament was a significant defeat to Brazil, compounded by a disappointing result against Morocco, effectively quashing the team’s hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds. A victory by Croatia over Ghana (2-1) further eliminated any chances for the Scots to remain in contention.
The Mirror reports that the SFA is actively considering potential successors, with candidates including David Moyes, Kasper Hjulmand, and various other qualified individuals under review.
