Real Madrid has officially announced José Mourinho as their new head coach, and he is currently in the process of assembling his coaching staff.

Details: According to The Athletic, former German international midfielder Sami Khedira is nearing a return to the Santiago Bernabéu, expected to take on the role of assistant coach. This position will mark Khedira’s first significant foray into senior coaching since retiring as a player in 2021. Initially, Mourinho considered ex-Real defender Pepe for the role, but ultimately settled on Khedira.

In addition to Khedira, Mourinho plans to bolster his support staff with trusted colleagues. Among the specialists arriving in Madrid are assistants João Tralhão and Pedro Machado, analyst Roberto Merellu, fitness coach António Dias, and goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos. These appointments are aimed at quickly establishing order within the team’s dressing room.
