The Ivory Coast team is riding high on confidence following their successful opening match against Ecuador as they prepare for their second World Cup fixture in Group E.
Scheduled for Saturday, June 20, the upcoming match against Germany could be pivotal for the Elephants, potentially paving their way toward advancing to the next round of the tournament being held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
In a press conference preceding the match, manager Emerse Fae articulated his team’s aspirations. The Ivory Coast is aiming to top Group E and achieve a historic qualification for the knockout stage of the World Cup.
Fae highlighted the importance of their opening victory, stating, “The victory in our first match has given us a great deal of confidence. It allows us to approach this match with greater composure and calm. Our objective is clear: to finish top of the group and secure our place in the second round. That would be a historic result for us.”
