The Marco Silva era at London’s Fulham has officially concluded, as the club confirmed the Portuguese manager’s departure from his role as head coach after five years.
Upon his exit, Silva expressed his gratitude to the Cottagers’ supporters, stating, “From day one, I asked you to always be with us. And that is exactly what you have done for the past five years. We’ve achieved a lot together. My staff and I always felt your support – it will never be forgotten. Fulham will forever remain in my heart, and sooner or later, I will definitely return to Craven Cottage.”
Reports from talkSPORT indicate that Silva is set to return to Portugal to manage Benfica. The two parties have reportedly agreed on a “2+1” year contract.
A Fulham player announced their retirement at the age of just 21.
