FIFA is set to significantly enhance the financial rewards for teams participating in the 2026 World Cup. This decision comes as a part of the organization’s efforts to address earlier criticisms regarding ticket pricing and its financial management.

Details: According to reports from NYTIMES, FIFA intends to increase the prize money for the countries competing in the tournament. Initially, each team was expected to earn a minimum of $10.5 million, with the champion receiving $50 million. However, following a reassessment of anticipated profits, FIFA’s management has decided to boost the overall prize pool, as projections indicate that the organization will generate over $11 billion from the event.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, totaling its matches across three North American countries: the USA, Canada, and Mexico. This tournament will be historic as it is the first to feature 48 teams, with the final match planned for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
