Filipe Luís, a 40-year-old Brazilian coach, is emerging as the leading candidate for the head coaching position at Bayer Leverkusen. The club is currently on the lookout for a new head coach as they seek to improve their performance.
According to reputable journalist Florian Plettenberg on social media platform X, negotiations between Bayer’s management and Luís are already in progress. While the club has several options under consideration, Luís is reportedly their top choice.
Once an agreement is finalized with Luís, Bayer is expected to announce the departure of their current head coach, Kasper Hjulmand. Filipe Luís previously managed Brazilian side Flamengo from 2024 to 2026, where he achieved notable success, including winning the Copa Libertadores title.
