El-Hadji Diouf, the former Liverpool striker, has come under scrutiny for his behavior regarding child support obligations. The 45-year-old has received a suspended sentence following a court ruling regarding unpaid support for his children and ex-wife.
Details reported by The Sun reveal that Diouf’s ex-wife, Valerie Bishop, brought him to court for failing to pay nearly £14,000 in child support. The court has mandated that Diouf compensate Bishop and their 17-year-old daughter, who resides with her mother, while also imposing a suspended prison sentence.
Diouf, who played for Liverpool from 2002 to 2004 after transferring from French club Lens for €15 million, made 80 appearances for the Reds, netting 6 goals and providing 13 assists. He gained further recognition as a key player for the Senegal national team during the 2002 World Cup, where he delivered standout performances.
