Tragic news has emerged from France today with the announcement of the passing of former footballer Bryan Bergougnoux at the age of 43. Bergougnoux, known for his tenure with Toulouse, Lyon, and Lecce, fell ill while en route to a legends match.
Reports indicate that he lost consciousness multiple times during his drive to the stadium. Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital, where despite efforts to save him, he could not be revived.
At the time of his death, Bergougnoux was serving as the assistant coach for French club Le Havre, working with head coach Didier Digard since July 2025. Throughout his illustrious playing career, he won the French championship four times with Lyon and claimed the French Cup three times.
