The Germany national team faced an early setback in their second group stage match of the World Cup against Ivory Coast when defender Nico Schlotterbeck was forced to exit due to injury.
Schlotterbeck sustained the injury during a challenge with Amad Diallo but continued to play through the discomfort, completing the first half of the match.
However, Germany’s head coach Julian Nagelsmann had to make a tactical adjustment for the second half, bringing on Antonio Rüdiger to replace Schlotterbeck.
