Alexia Putellas is set to begin a new chapter in her career after choosing to join London City Lionesses. The former Barcelona captain will officially become a player of the English club on July 1 after opting for the London-based project ahead of offers from the United States and Mexico.

Seeking a fresh challenge, Putellas was attracted by the club’s ambitious project, the competitiveness of the Women’s Super League and the opportunity to remain close to her family in Europe.
