अर्जेंटीना के स्टार खिलाड़ी लियोनेल मेस्सी ने अल्जीरिया के खिलाफ अपने वर्ल्ड कप अभियान की शुरुआत शानदार हैट्रिक के साथ की है।
मैच के शुरुआती 17 मिनट के भीतर ही मेस्सी ने गोल दागा और इसके तुरंत बाद उन्हें मैदान पर भावुक होकर रोते हुए देखा गया। मैच के बाद मेस्सी ने इस घटना पर स्पष्टीकरण देते हुए बताया कि उनके आंसू फुटबॉल के कारण नहीं, बल्कि उनके निजी जीवन से जुड़ी किसी स्थिति के चलते थे।
मेस्सी ने कहा, “हां, पहले गोल के बाद मैं रोया था, लेकिन इसका फुटबॉल से कोई लेना-देना नहीं है।”
उन्होंने आगे अपनी बात रखते हुए कहा, “मैं पिछले कुछ दिनों से काफी कठिन दौर से गुजर रहा था। मैं पूरी टीम और अपने साथियों का आभारी हूं क्योंकि उन्होंने हमेशा मेरा साथ दिया और मुझे बहुत हिम्मत दी।”
