Belgian coach Hugo Broos has faced significant criticism regarding his management of the South African national team. Many armchair analysts have questioned his tactics, expressing a lack of understanding of his strategic vision for the team.
After South Africa’s recent 1-0 victory over South Korea, which secured their place in the World Cup last-32 round, Broos defended his approach. He stated that the criticism he received was unwarranted, emphasizing his unwavering belief in the team’s capabilities.
“There was a lot of criticism about not understanding what I was doing,” Broos remarked following the match at Estadio Monterrey. He added, “I always had belief in this group, even the last few weeks, when the critics were very, very hard. But I never doubted them.”
The South African team is set to face Canada this Sunday at 9 PM South African time.
