Algerian international Ilan Kebbal recently shared insights on the aspirations of the Fennecs regarding their performance on the global football stage. He expressed confidence in the ability of African teams to compete effectively with the world’s top football nations.
Kebbal highlighted Morocco’s remarkable achievement during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where the Atlas Lions made history by reaching the semi-finals. In an interview with winwinallsports, he emphasized his belief that Algeria can similarly make a significant impact.
We know that the World Cup is a very tough competition. Naturally, we hope to go as far as possible. If Morocco managed to do it, that means other African teams can do it too, such as Senegal or Algeria. Why couldn’t we do it as well? The aim is to return home as late as possible and to stay at the World Cup for as long as possible.

In the upcoming World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, Algeria has been placed in Group J, where they will compete against Argentina, Austria, and Jordan.
