FIFA President Gianni Infantino has responded to the rising dissatisfaction surrounding ticket prices for the upcoming 2026 World Cup. He highlighted that these prices are reflective of the American market, where the entertainment sector is among the strongest worldwide.

Infantino pointed out that in the United States, attending even a college sporting event typically costs over $300. He argued that considering the scale of the World Cup, the ticket prices are justified by market realities.

The FIFA chief also addressed the issue of ticket resales, which are permissible in the U.S. He noted that if ticket prices are set too low, scalpers may take advantage by reselling them at significantly inflated rates.

He encouraged fans to disregard the exorbitant figures often seen on the secondary market, clarifying that if a ticket for the final is listed at $2 million, it does not reflect its actual value.
