Ipswich Town is preparing for the upcoming season with significant transfer activity. According to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano on his X social media platform, the English club has made an initial offer for Alexsandro, a central defender from Lille. Negotiations are already underway as Ipswich aims to secure the Brazilian’s transfer during the summer window.
The potential deal is reported to be valued at around €30 million. While several other European clubs are also interested in the 25-year-old defender, Ipswich is keen to overcome the competition for his signature.
Having recently returned to the Premier League, Ipswich is focused on strengthening its squad ahead of the new campaign. The management identifies Alexsandro as a key target for bolstering the team’s defensive line.
Last season, Alexsandro’s performance was less than stellar, making only 11 appearances for Lille without contributing any goals or assists. His current market value is estimated at €15 million, according to Transfermarkt.
