Roberto Mancini has taken a significant step towards a potential return to the Italy national team, as he has officially parted ways with Qatari club Al Sadd. Insider Nicolo Schira confirmed the termination of his contract, a development that had been anticipated for several weeks.

With the split from the Qatari side now official, Mancini is set to focus on the next phase of his managerial career. The 61-year-old coach is reportedly the leading candidate to take charge of the Italian national team.

Negotiations for his appointment are said to be nearing completion, with a contract expected to extend until the summer of 2030. Under the proposed terms, Mancini would earn approximately two million euros per year.

It is important to note that Mancini previously led the Italian national team to one of its most significant achievements in recent history, securing the European Championship title in 2021.
