The Ivory Coast side opened the scoring with Nda Nadege netting the first goal in the 29th minute, putting her team ahead 1-0. However, the Beninese opponents quickly responded, with R. Gandonou leveling the match at 1-1. The score would remain unchanged until the final whistle.
The two teams are set to meet again in a few days in Lomé, Togo, for the return leg of the qualifiers. The winner of this match will secure a spot at the 2026 U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
